Privacy Policy

Smoothanchor ("we"/"us") takes your privacy seriously. We offer a simulation game you can download on supported devices and play online through partner platforms (the "Game"). We also run smoothanchor.com (the "Website"), where you can learn about our Game, company, and Services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use, and share information about you through the Game, Website, and related services (together the "Services"). Our Terms of Service governs how you use the Services—you should read those too. Find them at smoothanchor.com.

CONSENT

By using the Services you agree to how we collect, use, and disclose your Personal Information as described here. You always have the choice to provide or withhold Personal Information. Two kinds of information get collected: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information. This Privacy Policy doesn't cover information that privacy laws don't currently restrict, like publicly listed names, addresses, and phone numbers, or Non-Personal Information (defined below). "Personal Information" means information that identifies you, like your name or email address. We keep this to provide the Services and stay in touch with you. "Non-Personal Information" is anonymous data. Think IP addresses and information our servers automatically collect through your browser or cookies when you visit the Website. We also collect aggregate stats like how many users visit or where they're located. This Privacy Policy focuses on Personal Information, but we're explaining our Non-Personal Information use so you understand how the Services work.

TYPES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

Registration & Accounts: You need a user account to access the Services. Your username is visible to everyone using the Game. Chat, profiles, and forums let you talk to other players. Anything you post publicly can be seen and used by people you don't know. Don't share Personal Information in public areas, and don't share other people's information—that violates the Terms of Service. IP Addresses. Your web browser reports your IP address when you visit the Website. We record this with your account information. We use it to: Diagnose problems users report that relate to specific IP addresses. See how many people visit from different regions and use the Services. Track the source of malicious or illegal activity (like multiple accounts) so we can stop it. Smoothanchor Applications on Partner-Operated Websites: To use the Game on third-party sites like Steam, you usually need to be a registered member there and link your Smoothanchor account to theirs. You'll need to agree to their Terms of Service if account linking is required. Device IDs: When you download or install our Game, we get a unique device identifier. We use this to sync your Game to your device. This ID doesn't include or expose your name, address, or other personal details on that device. Support: We keep emails and other messages you send us so we can handle your requests, answer questions, and improve the Services. User Feedback: We collect ratings and reviews. You're responsible for understanding and following the rating policies of any third-party stores. Use: We use your Personal Information to give you access to the Game, provide the Services, resolve disputes, fix problems, analyze how people use the Services, improve our offerings, catch fraud and illegal activity, send you system messages, and anything else we tell you about when collecting the information. All of this makes the Services safer, smoother, more fun, and tailored to what you need.

DISCLOSURES & TRANSFERS

We have safeguards in place to protect your Personal Information. We won't disclose, transfer, or sell it to third parties without your permission, except as described in this Privacy Policy (see Important Exceptions below).

IMPORTANT EXCEPTIONS

We may disclose your Personal Information without asking if we think it's necessary to identify, contact, or take legal action against someone who might be hurting us, our rights, property, other Website members, other users, or anyone else. We'll also disclose it if the law requires it. Nothing here limits your legal right to object to a government or third-party request for your information. We may also share your Personal Information if we reorganize, merge, sell a lot of our assets or stock, or do due diligence related to any of those things. The entity getting your information must continue using it only as this Privacy Policy allows. We use subsidiaries, affiliates, and third-party providers (together "Third Parties") to help run the Services and host data off-site. We may share your Personal Information with them. We pick Third Parties we believe are trustworthy and can handle what we ask of them, including keeping information confidential and following all applicable laws.

THIRD PARTY SITES & ADVERTISERS

The Services use tracking, data collection, and analytics tools from providers like Game Analytics, Facebook, Admob, and Singular. These third parties use cookies, APIs, and SDKs to collect and analyze data about you and your device on our behalf. They may access your device ID, MAC address, IMEI, locale, location, IP address, how you use apps, when you access them, what apps are on your device, and how you view and interact with ads. They do this to provide their services, including delivering ads. The Services may link you to various third-party vendors and websites. We don't share Personal Information with them and don't control their privacy policies. How they use any information you give them is governed by their privacy policy. If you're unsure about giving information to another website, contact them directly and check their policy. Ads on the Smoothanchor website and in the Game may come from us or third-party advertisers. Clicking an ad may take you somewhere we don't monitor or control. Third-party ad servers may set cookies so they recognize your computer and track which ads you view or click. This Privacy Policy doesn't cover third-party ad server cookies—check their privacy policy instead.

SECURITY

Protecting your Personal Information matters to us. We use technical, contractual, administrative, and physical security measures. We limit who on our staff can access your information. That said, the internet isn't completely secure. We do our best to protect what you send us, but we can't guarantee it. Any transmission is at your own risk. We're not responsible if someone gets around our privacy settings or security. You also need to help protect your information. Never share your passwords, real name, or address. Don't use your real name as your username. Log out and close your browser when you're done using the Website or Game.

RETENTION

We hold Personal Information only as long as necessary for its purpose, or as the law requires. This might be longer than our relationship lasts. We may keep certain data to prevent fraud or abuse, for legitimate business needs like analyzing anonymized data or recovering accounts, or because the law says we have to. All retained Personal Information stays under this Privacy Policy.

ACCESSING AND DELETING PERSONAL INFORMATION

Right to erasure (right to be forgotten) – You can review, update, correct, or delete any Personal Information linked to your account, and request account closure. Submit a request through in-game support or email info@smoothanchor.online. We may decline if changing or deleting something would break a law or make the information wrong. We may ask for specific details to confirm your identity and your right to access. The law might let us refuse to provide some or all of your Personal Information, or we might have already destroyed or anonymized it under our record-keeping rules. If we can't give you access, we'll explain why, within legal limits. We'll provide your Personal Information except where privacy law allows us to refuse. Examples include: Information protected by solicitor-client privilege. Information that's part of a dispute resolution process. Information about someone else that would reveal their details or confidential business information. Information that would cost too much to provide. For deletion requests, we'll take reasonable steps to remove your personal information. Some records, like payment and customer service history, stay for legal and accounting reasons. We may also keep information to exercise or defend our rights. Even after deletion, we may still use anonymized, Non-Personal Information about your activity. Questions about exercising your rights? Contact info@smoothanchor.online anytime.

Withdrawing Your Consent

If you gave consent to collect, use, transfer, or sell your Personal Information, you may have the right to withdraw it or object to how we process it. Email info@smoothanchor.online to withdraw consent if applicable. Keep in mind—withdrawing consent might mean we can't give you a certain product or service. We'll explain what changes when you ask.

TRANSFERRING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may process, store, and transfer your Personal Information to a foreign country with different privacy laws—possibly weaker than Canada's. That country's government, courts, law enforcement, or agencies might be able to access your information under their laws. We require all service providers, including cloud companies, to meet this Privacy Policy's standards and Canadian privacy law. Want to know more about our policies on service providers outside Canada? Reach out. By using the Site or submitting information, you agree to this transfer, storage, and processing.

OUR POLICY REGARDING CHILDREN

If you're under 13, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to use the Services. We won't knowingly reach out to or engage with children under 13 without that permission. We encourage parents and guardians to watch and review how their child uses the Services. If you think a child gave us their Personal Information, or you're worried about how we collect, use, or share it, or you want us to stop collecting or delete a child's information, email info@smoothanchor.online. We'll try to delete it and address your concerns.

AMENDMENT OF THIS POLICY

We may change this Privacy Policy anytime. We'll post a notice on smoothanchor.com if we do. Small changes like clarifications take effect when posted. Big changes take effect 30 days after posting. Unless we say otherwise, the current Privacy Policy applies to all your Personal Information. The update date is at the bottom of this document. Keep using the Services means you accept any changes.
